Intentions

Brother Innes Shaheen (Allah yarham):

“The idea for the retreat came about from the intentions of a friend and brother a year ago. He suggested that we come together in an environment encouraging the remembrance of Allah most exalted and His messenger Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him. He said, “Make it easy for everyone and don’t burden anyone.”

We hope that you find in this retreat the bonds of love, mercy and tranquillity are strengthened within your family and with other families and friends.”

The Family Spiritual Retreat is a not-for-profit collective of like-minded families who have come together with the intention of remembering Allah, renewing the Prophetic rhythm and increasing a sense of community.

Purposes

The retreat is primarily aimed at Scottish families or those with links to Scottish families as a means of reconnecting through our annual gathering. Over the years we pray that the retreat helps strengthen the bonds of kinship and community and as such give priority to those who have attended the retreat in the past.
