The Family Spiritual Retreat (FSR) is a not-for-profit collective of like-minded families who have come together with the intention of remembering Allah, renewing the Prophetic rhythm and increasing a sense of community.

It was established by Brother Innes Shaheen (Allah yarham) in 2017:

“The idea for the retreat came about from the intentions of a friend and brother a year ago. He suggested that we come together in an environment encouraging the remembrance of Allah most exalted and His messenger Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him. He said, “Make it easy for everyone and don’t burden anyone.” We hope that you find in this retreat the bonds of love, mercy and tranquillity are strengthened within your family and with other families and friends.”

Since then we have held 5 residential events in locations such as the Spittal of Glenshee and Blencathra as well as Millport.

Our events are primarily aimed at Scottish families or those with links to Scottish families as a means of reconnecting through our annual gathering. The stays are intended to strengthen the bonds of kinship and community and as such give priority to those who have attended FSR events regularly in the past.
